Featured Work: “Patroclus & Achilles”

“Patroclus & Achilles” (43 × 75) (2026) explores devotion, identity, and irreversible fate through characters from the Iliad. Two presences emerge within the textile field, held in an embrace yet bound by asymmetrical destinies. Patroclus, adorned in Achilles' radiant golden headdress, assumes Achilles' identity in battle before being mistaken for him and slain by Hector. Their interpenetrating forms blur boundaries between the two figures; Patroclus' face and green eyes recede within purple waves of an arm. Gold and red convey urgency and impending loss, while blues and violets evoke absence. Their embrace becomes a visual meditation on love, identity, sacrifice, and fate.
