Artist Statement

I am a fiber artist drawn to the expressive power of abstraction, color, movement, and form. My work unfolds through an improvisational process, guided by intuition and a spontaneous dialogue with fabric. Working without conventional patterns, I cut, manipulate, and piece fabric into complex curved forms, allowing each composition to evolve through experimentation, response, and discovery. Alignment, tension, distortion, and the unexpected become part of the creative process.

Color is central to my work. I am fascinated by the relationships between color and form and by the way color can create energy, movement, tension, and harmony. Partly influenced by mid-century modern design, I explore bold color relationships and intricate structures while embracing the organic qualities of improvisational piecing.

More recently, mythology and poetry have become catalysts for my work, providing conceptual starting points that I translate through color, form, movement, and fiber. Whether exploring identity, resilience, transformation, connection, or simply the joy of color, I want my work to invite viewers to pause, look closely, and discover something of their own.

In a world often marked by noise and negativity, creating is both a personal and purposeful act. Through stitching, layering, and design, I strive to make work that offers beauty, visual joy, and an emotional connection that lingers beyond the initial encounter.
